A famous phrase from Hermes Trismegeistous, one of the most omnipresent archetypes in history and religion. 
The teachings and mentions of Hermes date back to the pyramids, basically this wizardry dude whose name translates into "Hermes Thrice as Great".


This could be considered an absolute pseudoscience, but for all that matters it was a great study of mine because it tied into all things I was interested at the time.
 

I drew this around the time I was really into studying mysticism and the occult. To be more specific the Kybalion was a study into the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece. 
 

Face it, before we had science there was belief and methods, more commonly known as Alchemy.
 

The pestle and mortar, herbs and religious motifs all tie into this idea of a world before the Industrial Revolution, what a time that must have been

This peice is called 'Temple within the Mind'

 

I drew this peice in a monotonous call center job, I really sacrificed time for money there. The only outlet for my boredom was drawing. Every day I would draw a new part of the  temple which you can see embellished in scrollwork and geometrical shapes.

 

My mission with this peice was to talk about the concept of Duality, an ideaology that seperates the Western world from the East.

FAQ

 

What tools do you use?

I currently use a Dremel with tungsten Carbide bits, I plan on using a GRS Tools Pneumatic Engraver  

Is this easy to do?

The style of engraving I do requires some grunt and patience. I spend hours on end carving out metal and often have trembling hands

What got you interested in Engraving?

I just like shiny things. No, Its a little more meaningful than that

 Do you sell your works?

Not at the moment. But money always talks.

I gift my work and do it for myself at the moment. In the future when I am happy with my skill level I will publicly sell my work
